The Peasant Grill

My friends and I dined in for dinner and the food was great! I got the green spinach salad and the lentil soup and they were both delicious. The portion sizes were great for the price (bang for your buck), we all needed boxes to take the rest home. It was a clean and pleasant environment, and they have outdoor seating. You pay for your food first and then a server will bring it out to you.

The owners / managers pay scrupulous attention to food quality and preparation details. Their recently renovated establishment has a state of the art kitchen and warm patron appointments in the interior and exterior dining areas. Many locals come here for take out for lunch and dinner - try their special meals which come with salad and roll and often delicious vegetables and a main course. Their desserts are amazing and all prepared fresh on site. It's convenient to get in and out and maybe the youthful wait staff is a bit green in the serving arts, but everyone is well mannered and has good intentions.

When I went to Stonybrook watershed, discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant. This eatery offered a delightful dining experience with a menu that catered to different tastes. My wife and I had the pleasure of trying their squash soup, caprese sandwich, and veggie black bean burger. The dishes were flavorful and satisfying, but what really stood out were the side salads that accompanied them. The salads, with their crisp greens and the tangy balsamic vinegar dressing, perfectly complemented the meal, particularly the caprese sandwich. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience with delicious food and delectable side salads, this is the place to go!

I have been a longtime customer of The Peasant Grill as I live in Hopewell. I had a previous review saying nice things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, I had to remove my review after a negative experience there on 1/19/24. The woman with blonde hair and woman with curly brown hair who were working the counter were rude to me and my friend without cause. I don't expect warm and fuzzy, but basic politeness is the bare minimum. I don't give my business to places where the staff snickers and rolls their eyes about customers as a form of sport. I work too hard for my money, and I would never get away with such mean spirited behavior. It is clear to me from today that TPG doesn't deserve my business and is unappreciative of it. I am happy to take my business elsewhere. In brief, the Peasant Grill was open the day of the snowstorm, which clearly was not a hit with the staff. They made a social media post telling people to come by, and there was one table eating there when I did. Don't open and tell people to come if your staff are going to act abusive to customers. I placed my order after literally just walking into the shop, and I see her roll her eyes and give a side smirk with the brown haired woman. Apparently scooping food out from behind the counter is too hard of work for those two. The thing with eye rollers is they want you to see them. Unfortunately for TPG though, people nowadays have the power to leave reviews and go elsewhere. You can have an OK product but if you have someone with an attitude like that behind the counter, it says a lot about your business. Word of mouth is really important too, and I'll let my family and friends know how I was treated there. I'm sure if those staff treat me like that for literally ordering a take out meal, they must be doing that to other people too. I'd be embarrassed to treat people like that. UPDATE Response to Owner: Of course the snickering and eye rolling isn't about me. It's always a reflection on the person who employs such tactics and the business that promotes it. Owner's response is to say I am "attacking" a local business and hurting someone's livelihood by writing an honest review about my experience. I have done nothing but be supportive of local businesses within Hopewell, including yours, with my friend and I giving you $100+ per week. Our absolute mistake. You don't get to patrol and gaslight the public's responses to being mistreated by you and your staff. I don't write reviews lightly or on a whim, and I'm not mistaken about the behavior I experienced.
